Park(ing) Day Takes Over 20th Street

Park(ing) Day is an annual worldwide event where designers, citizens, and businesses transform metered parking spots into temporary public parks.

In September of 2014, 20th St W (between Avenue B and E) was celebrated as a sustainable, bike-friendly neighbourhood where community and business thrive. The day included parking stalls transformed into public parks, food trucks, bike valet, open forums, speakers and children’s activities. In a rapidly changing neighbourhood like Riversdale, Park(ing) Day is an especially effective experiment for a community to imagine the future. It's a way for Saskatonians from all over to experience walkable, bike-friendly streets. An active retail sector. Diverse uses of buildings. Here are some photos capturing the events of the day.
